Most metalheads only know me as a bassist and photojournalist and editor for the best fucking internet metal station in the world, but since 2004, I’ve been the owner of BMF Sports: formerly a sports product and promotions company, now exclusively digital media products and services. So, when Murderfly (the fourth band of the night) announced their anthem “BMF” at the Firestone Live Concert Series show, I was like, “WHOA! REALLY? FUCKIN’ AY!” I was momentarily disappointed to discover that it had nothing to do with me, but that disappointment quickly gave way to the charge of a jackboot to my CNS as frontman Bo Dinkins belted out,
“I’M A BAD MOTHERFUCKER, LOADING UP MY GLOC! I GOT A 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN LOADED AND COCKED!”
You’ll notice there aren’t as many photos of Murderfly as of the previous bands. Well, this was the point in the show when the lighting went from rock to rave and the stage was deluged with random floods of red, green and purple lights, making ideal concert photos little more than a wish. Nonetheless, Murderfly’s performance and repertoire kept the moshers moshing and pulses racing throughout their entire set.
